How we work
A clear start, then a rhythm you can rely on.
Most of the value in a finance relationship comes from the ordinary months, not the year end. The first weeks are about getting the foundations right; after that the work settles into a predictable cycle of processing, reporting and review.
- 01
Onboarding
A conversation about the business, then the practical work: engagement terms, identity checks, authorisations with HMRC and Companies House, and a handover from your previous accountant if there is one.
- 02
Information gathering
We collect what exists: prior accounts, tax history, bank and payment access, payroll records, contracts and the way you currently record things. Then we tell you plainly what is missing or unreliable.
- 03
Systems set-up
Software chosen or kept, feeds connected, chart of accounts rebuilt around how you manage the business, and a short written process covering who does what and when.
- 04
Regular processing
Bookkeeping, VAT and payroll run to a fixed schedule so the records are current rather than reconstructed. Deadlines are tracked on our side, with notice given well ahead.
- 05
Reporting
A Finance Partner Report monthly or quarterly: work completed, revenue and cost movement, cash position, amounts to reserve, risks and unusual activity, recommended actions and upcoming deadlines.
- 06
Communication
Recurring clients can message us throughout the year and normally receive a response within one business day. Questions in the moment are part of the service, not an extra.
- 07
Proactive review
We look at the position ourselves and raise what we think you should know. Support should not depend on the client knowing which question to ask.
What you can expect from us in an ordinary month.
No invisible periods, no scramble in the final week before a deadline, and no need to chase for an update.
- 1Records processed to schedule
- 2Report issued to an agreed cycle
- 3Response within one business day
- 4Deadlines flagged in advance
- 5Anything unusual raised without being asked
